Parent view - RE Questionnaires

Parent view July 2023

Thank you for all your contributions to our RE questionnaires.

We have had 75 responses this year – almost double last year with some lovely comments too.

Question 1 - The mission statement 'Be humble, be simple, bring joy to the school' is central to the life of the school.  We are delighted that this question received 100% agreement from you again.  Thank you.

Question 5 - My family feels valued and welcomed by the school, also received 100% agreement from you.

Last year Question 16 - The school keeps me informed about what my child is studying in RE, received our lowest score of 87% agreement, but this year 98% of you agree!

Our lowest score was Question 14. My child understands how to improve their RE work.  This received 89% score of agreement.

To keep you informed we will;

  • Continue posting on X (formally Twitter) and Dojo so families can witness our commitment to the Catholic Life of the school and social justice.
  • Send out diary dates for the year including all masses and which Year groups are leading them.
  • Continue to develop the RE marking policy, so that all children are clear about next steps in learning and they can talk about it.
  • Put a reminder on Dojo when the RE termly newsletter is on school website, so you can see what your child is learning in RE.
  • All other questions on the questionnaires scored an agreement of 91% or above.

Please come and ask school if you would like any more clarity on the Catholic Life of the school, our Religious Education or Prayer and Liturgy.

Many thanks, Miss Rutledge and  Mrs Hall

Parent view July 2022

Thank you so much for all the RE questionnaires that have been returned to school.  We will send some out again next July.

We have received 44 responses and would like to share some key findings with you;

Question1 - The mission statement 'Be humble, be simple, bring joy to the school' is central to the life of the school.  We are delighted that this question received 100% agreement from you.

Question 16 - The school keeps me informed about what my child is studying in RE.

This question received our lowest score of 87% agreement, 7% don’t know and 5% in disagreement.

To keep you informed;

  •         The RE parent letter, which outlines RE teaching across the school is updated on the website every term, under 'What my child is learning in RE'.  We will follow this up with a parent text to alert you of the website update.
  •         RE will continue to be included on the year group specific Curriculum Maps, which are sent to parents.
  •         RE will continue to be assessed and commented upon in your child’s end of year report.

All other questions on the questionnaires scored an agreement of 91% or above, with the other 9% as ‘don’t know’.

Please come and ask school if you would like any more clarity on the Catholic Life of the school, our Religious Education or Prayer and Liturgy.

Many thanks, Mrs Hall.
